Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Our Work

CASA will facilitate opportunities for the continuation of academic, artistic, and/or educational pursuits.

Working with SAR and similar partner organizations, as well as OSU’s Office for International Affairs, CASA will help build department and community partnerships to host refugee, asylum seeker, and internally displaced scholars, artists, and students who are seeking safety in a third country, including the United States.

Avenues for support include visiting assistant professor, artists in residency, or lecturer positions as well as pursuing graduate education at the M.A., M.F.A, or Ph.D. level.

We seek to create greater awareness about the importance of academic freedom across the globe and the threats to research, artistic pursuits, and higher education.

CASA also supports university programming on academic freedom and invites collaboration.
